‘Amongst the Herd’ exhibition opens at The Corner Store Gallery, Orange

Best known for her lifelike portraits of cows, artist Megan Payne has rounded up a dozen of her original paintings and drawings, along with a selection of prints, for an exhibition at The Corner Store Gallery in Orange, New South Wales.

‘Amongst the Herd’ is a collection of Megan’s beautifully detailed portraits which mostly profile cows – including Black Angus, Herefords, Australian Charbray and Charolais – as well as the occasional sheep.

The up-close portraits are created using oil paints on canvas and board, and offer a real personality for each bovine subject. Many of the cows featured in the exhibition are at home on Millford Acres, the Payne family’s farm on the New South Wales Saffire Coast.

The seven-day exhibition runs from June 19-24, 2018 with a special opening night set for June 21 2018 at 6.30pm.

Everyone is welcome to this free event, and Megan will be in residence and happy to chat about her work and answer any questions.
